Holidays!

Hey y'all!

I don't have a lot of time this week, but here's a quick rundown.....
- it's finally getting cold! Sadly, I have stopped wearing my sandals.
- we have seen so many miracles and little blessings this week!
- a new investigator, José María, came to church and really liked it!
- I taught my comp how to make no bake cookies and she loved them! #holidayspirit
- we put the Christmas tree up #REALholidayspirit
- we have been sharing the new video #iluminaelmundo like crazy people!! If you haven't seen it, go to Mormón.org to see the new Light the World video and then serve someone!

I love being a missionary! Especially during the holiday season when we get to share the joy and love not Only with our families, but with every person we teach in their house or on a park bench or in the street. It  Truly is a blessing. Go out and share your light and serve others and let's all just remember that this time Centers on our Savior Jesus Christ and his example for us and what He did to fill this world with light.

I love you all!!
XOXO, Hermana Hauber (:

My comp made us a yummy Peruvian dish for thanksgiving

Almería!

Hey everybody!!

This weeks letter comes from a new city in Spain called..... Almería! Yup, transfers happened and I am now on the southern coast of Spain, right across the sea from Africa. So that's pretty cool.
And I'm with my new compi, Hermana Trujillo! She is from Peru and has about 6 months in the mission so that is fun. She has been here a transfer and I'm brand new, but we are working together to get to know everyone and figure out the bus schedules so these past couple days have been an adventure. (:
I don't have much to say this week but want to share a quote with y'all from something that I read this week....
Nevertheless, the soul that comes unto Christ, who knows His voice and strives to do as He did, finds a strength, as the hymn says, “beyond [his] own.” The Savior reminds us that He has “graven [us] upon the palms of [His] hands.” Considering the incomprehensible cost of the Crucifixion and Atonement, I promise you He is not going to turn His back on us now. When He says to the poor in spirit, “Come unto me,” He means He knows the way out and He knows the way up. He knows it because He has walked it. He knows the way because He is the way.
This is from a conference talk by Elder Holland from 2006 and I just want to focus on what he said about coming unto Christ.... the invitation that Christ ALWAYS gives us is to come unto him. No matter where we are, who we are, what we have done or where we have been, he just invites us to COME. As missionaries, we do lots of things: take out trash, knock doors, walk a lot, contact on the bus, study, etc.... but all of things are with one purpose only. To help others COME UNTO CHRIST.
That is what the mission is truly about and I guess it's taken me a while to figure it out. But it's fine. I'm here helping others come unto Christ and I LOVE IT. I'm so grateful to be here and for all of y'all that have supported me and loved me and written me and helped me. I'm grateful for a Savior that, time and time again welcomes us back and invites to COME unto Him. I'm grateful for this gospel that provides the way to return to Him and I'm so very grateful for a loving Heavenly Father who has given us everything.
I hope y'all have a wonderful week for Thanksgiving! Eat lots of yummy food and just be grateful, okay? (:

LOVE y'all!!
Hermana Hauber (:

Me voy!

Hey everybody!!
Well..... it has been a while since I've written and I don't even have a ton of time today. But I had a few things that I wanted to share with you all!!

1. We had consejo this last week and it was incredible! One of the things we talked about was faith and the story of the widow of Zarephath.... its in 1 Kings 17... GO READ IT! Basically the incredible faith that the woman had to do what the prophet Elijah asked her to do. But also the great faith that he had to ask her to do it and then promise the blessings that he did! Wow, I just was so amazed as I studied that. Since then, my comp and I have really been striving to apply the basic principles of faith in our work here. And have had the perfect opportunity to do so because this week is......

2. TRANSFERS!! So this transfer, I am leaving my sweet Hermana Berube and this beautiful place called Sevilla and I'm going to Almería!! Back across the map I go to the east side of the mission. I will be comps with Hermana Trujillo who is from Peru! So hopefully having a native compi will get my Spanish up there sounding even more like a native. (;
For the last couple transfers I have had the amazing opportunity to serve as a SHE(sister training leader) and I have loved it!! I have gotten to do exchanges with so many Hermanas, hear their testimonies and feel of their sweet spirits and I have learned so much! This transfer I won't be able to do that, but I have loved every moment of being a SHE. Shoutout to all my sweet Hermanas. ❤️❤️
With this transfer call, I have really been able to feel the hands of the Lord working in my life and that of others. Here as missionaries, we really are servants of the Lord! He works through us to help others and he uses other people to change our lives. I am so grateful to be here... I've met and served with and taught so many incredible people and each one has a special place in my heart!

To finish up, I just want to share something that one of the elders shared in consejo... he was sharing his testimony because he goes home this week and he said, "Many times I have wondered why the Lord chose someone as weak and imperfect as me to do His work.... and the only reason I can think of is because He loves me. " WOW. That hit me so hard. The Lord is giving me these opportunities and letting me be a missionary and serve Him in this capacity because He loves me!! Not because He needs me or any of these people need me, but because HE LOVES ME and knows this is the best thing I could be doing for my life.

I know this gospel is true. Jesus Christ lives and loves us and I am here in Spain because I know that, and I want tos hate it with others.

I hope y'all have a happy and healthy week!!
With so much love,
Hermana Hauber (:
